(Yahoo) – Kevin Hart is set to star in “72 Hours,” an upcoming comedy directed by “Barbershop” and “Ride Along” filmmaker Tim Story for Netflix.
Hart will play a 40-year-old executive who hopes to save his flailing career by joining a group of twentysomethings on a wild, three-day bachelor party, after he’s inadvertently added to their group text.
Hart is also producing through his Hartbeat banner alongside Will Packer, Davis Entertainment, and Counterbalance. Screenwriters are Matt Mider, Kevin Burrows, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg. Ross Fanger is executive producer.
“72 Hours” is being produced under a 2021 first-look deal between Sony Pictures and Netflix in which Sony will offer Netflix a first look at any films it intends to make for streaming. All films theatrically released by Sony Pictures are also released after their exclusive window on Netflix as part of the deal.
Hart most recently appeared in the Lionsgate film “Borderlands” and the Netflix heist comedy “Lift” directed by F. Gary Gray. He is repped by WME. Story is repped by UTA.
